Pressure Relief Valves

Pressure relief valves are a vital safety feature in any air compressor, and are even required by law in some jurisdictions. Relief valves are typically located near the top of the air compressor tank, and are connected to the tank via a pipe or hose. When the pressure in the tank reaches a certain level, usually around 150 PSI, the relief valve will open and release air until the pressure drops to a safe level.
