Engineer - Internship Opportunity

Location:

Greenville, SC (ACS Headquarters)

Position Summary

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and organized intern with strong problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who can bring fresh ideas to the table. They should be comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and eager to contribute to a variety of projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school student with a focus on STEM programs or early college students nearing the end of their studies.
  • Strong interest in mechanical systems, engineering, fabrication, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with CAD, SolidWorks, and 3D printing is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Projects:

  • Complete fabrication/assembly of a custom rolling stand for service to enhance air end rebuilding tasks.
  • Aid the Engineering Department in warehouse organization and optimization: utilize Lean concepts to increase efficiency.
  • Employ reverse engineering ideas to understand components and systems as well as troubleshooting.
  • Support the Product Department by tracking key metrics, creating reference sheets, and 360-degree virtual views of compressors for training purposes.
  • Help with producing instructional videos (e.g., filter changes) to help our customers.
  • Support operations with filter pad cutting optimization and time studies for warehouse/shipping processes.
  • Assist with measuring metrics, creating tools, and 3D printing for service and warehouse needs as required.

Additional Tasks:

  • Work with the team on general warehouse efficiency.
  • Help organize parts and manage inventory.

Schedule and Work Environment:

Expected to work two days per week in the office.
