ACS Named a Best Place to Work in South Carolina for Fifth Consecutive Year
Air Compressor Services (ACS) has been named one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina for the fifth consecutive year, ranking #34 among medium-sized employers in 2026.
The Best Places to Work in South Carolina program recognizes employers across the state based on an evaluation of workplace practices and, importantly, feedback provided directly by employees through a confidential survey.
For ACS Founder Neal Shade, earning the recognition for five straight years is especially meaningful given how much the company has changed during that time.
“ACS is a very different company than it was five years ago. We’ve grown tremendously, added a lot of people and asked our team to grow and change right along with us,” said Shade. “To continue earning this recognition through all of that growth means a lot. Culture isn’t something we built once and get to keep forever. Our people create it every day, and this award belongs to them.”
The 2026 Best Places to Work in South Carolina program recognized companies across three categories: small, medium and large employers.
Companies are evaluated through a two-part process managed by Best Companies Group. The assessment reviews workplace policies, practices and benefits, while an anonymous employee survey measures areas including workplace culture, leadership, engagement and employee satisfaction.
ACS has now earned Best Places to Work in South Carolina recognition every year since 2022.
The five-year streak comes during a period of significant growth for the Greenville-based company, which has continued to expand its team, operations and reach while working intentionally to maintain a workplace where employees can grow, take ownership and make an impact.

I suppose we could call ourselves “Air Compressor Oil” or “Air Compressor Parts.” But why limit ourselves to mere segments of what we sell?
